5 minors injured in car accident

Community members are coming out in force in the wake of a recent car accident to bring attention to the need for safety signage in a certain area of road after a car accident involving five minors. The accident illustrates just how complicated an injury accident can become when the there are multiple contributing factors.

The driver and four other passengers crashed into a line of trees when the vehicle left the road at a sharp curve that has been the site of several previous accidents. Not only was there significant property damage to both the trees and the vehicle, all five of the passengers in the car were taken to a hospital for injuries, although none of the injuries were deemed life-threatening. Several members of the community who were in the area of the wreck while news was on the scene noted how several wrecks have occurred there, and it is becoming a black eye for the local authorities that there is insufficient safety signage.

Complicating matters, however, is the fact that police found alcohol in the car when investigating the scene. The driver, who was a minor, refused to submit to a blood test at the scene of crash, and will be appearing in court shortly. Police indicated that they would be questioning families of the victims to determine where the alcohol was obtained.

This presents a tricky situation that will need to be handled delicately for the victims in the wreck. These minors were likely a group of friends, but that does not change the fact that serious injuries were suffered, and someone will need to be held responsible for the recoveries. With these kinds of situations, it is always wise to enlist the help of an experienced attorney who can help all parties reach equitable agreements while maintaining community relationships and protecting the rights of those who have been injured.
