 Form I-9 E-Verify Compliance Audit 

            At Sayer Regan & Thayer, LLP, our Human Resource and Employment Law department has developed the Sayer Regan & Thayer Form I-9 E-Verify Compliance Audit.  This Form I-9 E-Verify Compliance Audit removes the anxiety associated with an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) audit.  It is a systematic, multi phase approach that brings peace of mind to any business that uses it. 

A Phase One Audit 

            During a Phase One Audit our attorneys will conduct a complete review of your company’s written policies and procedures related to Form I-9 compliance.  We will: 

            (1)        Dig through your company’s written policies and manuals,  

            (2)        Identify any mistakes or policies that violate the employment verification law, and 

            (3)        Propose solutions. 

            The Phase One Audit is perfect for the business that wants to ensure that its written employment policies and procedures are I-9 compliant.  This phase is performed for a fixed fee, quoted in advance. 

A Phase Two Audit 

            For a Phase Two Audit, our attorneys will conduct a complete review of your company’s current hiring process to ensure that it complies with your company’s written employment policies and procedures.   Included in this phase is a review of personnel files to ensure Form I-9 compliance.  We also will: 

            (1)        Conduct a mock audit of your company’s personnel files, just like ICE would do                           in an actual audit, 

            (2)        Perform a complete check-up and identify any violations that need to be                                                     corrected, and 

            (3)        Provide advice on “How To” fix any violations. 

            A Phase Two Audit is perfect for the business that wants to protect itself by ensuring that its practices and procedures are compliant with federal law.  The cost for this phase is performed for a fixed fee, which is based upon the number of employees. 

In-House Training Program 

            In the third phase of the Form I-9 E-Verify Compliance Audit, our attorneys will conduct an in-house training seminar to teach your company’s key personnel exactly what needs to be done: 

            (1)        To prepare your business to handle any ICE audit, and 

            (2)        In response to a notice that ICE intends to audit your business. 

            Phase Three of our Form I-9 E-Verify Compliance Audit is perfect for the business that wants the convenience of having a “Done For You” audit disaster plan in place just in case ICE decides to conduct a random audit.  This phase is performed for a fixed fee.
