5 injured in auto accident at Rhode Island intersection

We normally do not think of garbage trucks as road hazards, but one Rhode Island family is suffering from a major trauma after a trash truck slammed into the private vehicle. Reports show that five victims were taken to area hospitals after a car accident in late December left them seriously wounded - and that a garbage truck was involved in the wreck. Authorities say that the three-vehicle accident sent all five occupants of a Chevy Suburban to the hospital.

Initial reports indicate that a male driver failed to yield at a stop sign at a busy intersection. That negligent driver crashed into the victims' vehicle, which was then struck from the opposite direction by a trash truck when it was thrown into the other lane. The pickup driver was reportedly cited at the scene of the collision, but it is not clear whether he will face any additional legal action. The victims who were taken to the hospital included three children from ages 1 to 5 years old.

Victims in this type of case deserve financial compensation for their medical expenses and other related costs. Just imagine being a parent in that vehicle and watching your children suffer injuries that required hospital treatment!

Negligent drivers can cause brain injuries and be held accountable for pain and suffering and other damages related to the car accident. The negligent drivers should be responsible for financial remuneration for the victims' traumatic experience. A qualified personal injury attorney can help victims recover this compensation, whether it occurs because of a drunk driving accident, distracted driver or just a negligent driver who was not paying attention to his or her surroundings.
